What can I say about Hofer's? Although I rarely go to Helen,I have been eating at Hofer's restaurant since I was a little girl. Their food is always delicious, the service is good, and I always feel at home there. Honestly, to the people who complain about the long lines they have at times, don't complain too much, because on the plus side, a long line can mean a place has good business. Plus, I think this website gives a good idea of the items and services they have.

I have just returned home from a weeks Vacation in Helen. (8/18/07). During my visit to Helen my wife kept pushing me to go eat at one of the many German Style resturants in town. My mother came from a large German Family and all to often growing up I was exposed to German food and cooking. I never got to know my Oma but my mother talked often of her while she would be cooking German food. My mother passed away 6 years ago and I have not had German food since. Today I want you to know that I finally gave into my wife and ate at Hofer's. Folks... When I had the "Ein Paar Bratwürste" which is a German Bratwurst, served with sauerkraut, a pretzel dumpling, and substitued the mashed for fried potatoes. I took my first bite of the potatoes with sauerkraut, I began to cry. It was just like I was eating my mothers cooking all over again. It was twelve years ago that I last visited Helen on my Honeymoon. I did not eat of Hofer's then. I did not plan on eating there this trip. But I did. NOW I will always eat at Hofer's and I will not wait twelve years to do it again.

Nice web site, happy it was recommended to me by a friend. Considering an order with you, hopefully everyone in the group will go along. Now the only thing we need is for you to open a branch bakery here in Rogers, Arkansas, that is, if you feel you can take on Wal-Mart who dominates this entire area in northwest Arkansas. It would be super for many of us. I am so happy that Hofer's exists! My father, who is from Europe, does not like American bread (even though he has been here since 1952) and they do not have good German bread in New Orleans (believe it or not - the city with incredible foods). Hofer's allows me to have bread delivered to him on a regular basis even though I live in Florida. The bread alway arrives fresh and on time.

Found your website very informative. Been looking for this type of website for sometime. My parents just loved the bread sampler I ordered for them and the German Stollen. My mother is German and came across your ad in a magazine. She ordered some of your pretzels and pretzel rolls. They were excellent!! As close to her hometown bakery as possible. They even freeze and thaw well. We pop them in a warm oven for a few minutes and it's just like fresh baked. WE hope to come to Helen for a visit sometime. I just wanted you to know that my husband really enjoyed your breads. He was so homesick for his different bread he even learned how to make it himself. He ordered from you frequently for a while. My husband passed away two months ago, very suddenly and with no reason. The autopsy showed nothing that would have led to his death so I guess I will never know what happened to him. I just wanted you to know that each time he received a package of bread he had ordered from you his face would light up and he would enjoy that bread for weeks. He always kept his freezer full of it.
